In lieu of your music it’s your attitude I admire, thanks again for reaffirming we’re heading in the right direction. See you on the 27th in Melbourne.

  5. Mr. G says:

You mention in the Intro that you will talk about “Why it’s good to feel late”, but I’ve watched all the videos and never heard you expand on it. Did I miss it? Or did it get left out?

Also, any chance members can get ahold of the ZIP / DOC file you mention? Thanks, great series.

I understand your points. However, I work during the day and only have “night sessions” available to me. My job is slow enough that I can learn/watch sound design & tutorial videos during the day (which is why I am watching this now). At home, I try to divide my time either practicing what I learned or working on a song but only for a few hours. I dj or attend to music business stuff at the weekend. Any advice I might gain from your series?

    • It doesn’t matter if you do you day sessions at night? It’s all about two different type’s of work. Day sessions being when you are doing nothing else but writing music. Night sessions being the time you use to learn, organize, and do prep work for your day sessions…….

maybe if you thought of them as prep sessions and writing sessions it would be easier to integrate into your lifestyle?

as i said in the lecture, these are just some thing i have found on my own journey… most people have similar problems (if not exactly the same) it’s just that we all have idiosyncratic artistic ideals and idiosyncratic lives…

you will have to use your imagination to adapt what i am saying to your own journey. i’m sure it won’t be hard tho… ;)

lots of love and thanks for watching!

  13. Bread says:

Stoked for the workshop in Reno. I took time off from work, and I don’t even do that for shows!

  14. Toastmaster says:

Hey man, just subscribed to your workshop a week ago and it’s a whole new game for me.  I’m having one issue though.

I started making my own 128s, and for some of my “SEL” 128s the macro will choose a sample, but the sample will interpolate as though it’s being played by the key in the zone where it’s stored…  i.e. sample 1 will be super high pitched (almost inaudible) and super low for 127.  It’s really limiting the usefulness of the 128s!

BTW I haven’t messed with the “KEY” zone at all with these.  I’m looking for answers but having a hard time.  Please help!

    Thanks so much.

  15. Toastmaster says:

OK, in the video you said use key 128s for rhythm sounds, but I see in the video you’re using SEL 128s for drums with a pitch change plugin to counter-act the problem I’m having.  Cool!  I’m gonna go deal with that.

Once again, man, you’ve opened a big door for me to really get some inertia going.  Thanks!  I’m planning on picking up your studio template when I can.

  16. Toastmaster says:

Right, I got it, the pitch plugins help you select a sample in your KEY 128, not SEL.  Last comment, lol, just wanted to say that I got it right finally.  :D

  17. Freyzon says:
