Originally called the DEEJAYUS EX MACHINA template for Trigger Finger users, the core DJ Template has been expanded to include both external and internal mixer configurations for MPD32 and MPD24 controllers. This template is also easy to port over to an alternative controller and is the perfect tool to crush both dancefloors and mixtapes. Highpass and lowpass filters on virtual decks and selectable tempo-synched effects allow for creative control of your mix. 4 cue points per side and a turntable/CD-J style ‘load on the fly’ system of track organization complete with bpm, key and search tags ensure that your sets all come out spontaneous and unique, turning you into a DJ that can be danced to night after night after night.

is this not going to work on my MPD 24?? i cant get anything to work on preset 1 in external or internal mixing
Hey Corey. Go into options/preferences/midisync and make sure the controller is linked. There is a file within the ZIP for the 32. With the 24, you’ll be sacraficing 2 faders so may have to remap, but its real easy to reassign.

Also i forgot to mention that when i load the template the sample clip is missing along with the whole track that its on. I can have ableton do an auto search which says it fixed the missing clip, but after that the track is still missing and still nothing works

The suppatrigga is automatically tied to the crossfader and basically beat juggles between the two turntables. If you are on PC, you just need the VST. Mac users need to use the Audio Units version. Make sure that the VST folder is selected in Ableton preferences.
Hi i recently switched from a PC to a Mac and im confused i have the supatrigga AU installed and when i try opening the template it still tells me that the VST plugin cannot be found, do i need to manually replace supatrigga VST with the AU or what am i doing wrong here that ableton wont load Supatrigga with this set?
i figured this out, so forget that, sorry.. i was trying to use the template that i customized to work with my MPD26 on my PC, i wasnt using the Mac OS X version of the template.

Hey Cg7. Make sure you are getting the Audio Units version of Supatrigga and be sure to move the component into your Ableton systems folders. This is usually found in your mac HD > Library > audio > plugins > components.

I’ve been trying to load the supa plugin for the last couple months, it always says that it can’t be doun when i load the live set! I’m following the directions, anything else I can check?

i don’t believe it is THAT different from the mpd24. you could probably just load the mpd24 version and be fine BUT if that doesn’t work i am back from burning man now and fielding emails at help@illGATES:disqus .com on the daily so i can get you sorted out if there is any problem.
worst comes to worst i think i could probably find a homey with an mpd24 to go see how it loads and then sort any issues within a day or so. gotta love san francisco! so many musicians

hey, im trying to re map this to a launchpad and favder fox lv3, i can get everything to work fine except the tempo. i tried mapping the tempo adjust on the live 8 dj strip under each table but it doesn’t seem to do anything, is there anythings else i have to map to get the tempo to work?

hey i also bought this template and so far i love it. i use it on live gigs but for the life of me i cant seem to set the default bpm value to any lower than 70 bpm. I would like to use the first fader to speed up and SLOW down the tempo of a track during my performances, but the lowest value i get when the fader is all the way down is 70 bpm. ill gates HELP MEEE!!! :p
or if there is a way to have ableton play each track with its original bpm instead of starting each song off at 70bpm.

ableton freezes and shuts off when i try to start up the internal trigger finger. it says fatal error: the audio engine is not responding.
that sounds like a problem with your system, or with your sound card.

i have a macbook pro with o.s.x 10.6.8 and use ableton suite 8.2.6 a (legit version)
sound card im using the internal one. i used it on my imac and it works perfect but on my macbook it crashes. also the external one. the sound stops and the wheel of doom pops up for a few seconds and it resumes. again on my imac it works proper.
Hello, I’m trying to get started mixing in Ableton, and was wondering if you could help me figure out which Ableton Template would be best to purchase.Firstly I have practically no experience in Ableton and was wondering if mr.Gates thinks it’s foolish to begin mixing in Ableton before any type of producing?I’ve been mixing in Traktor Pro 2 for a little less than a year and want to make the switch to ableton before I get too comfortable with Traktor. I have an MPD26 and a Denon DNX-600 mixer. From what I understand, the Deejay Ex Machina is the template that I’d want; it includes the ill.Gates masta-mind template, as well as pre-mappings for the trigger finger, MPD32, and MPD24. Because I don’t plan on using any other controllers in the near future, I would get this template since it is mapped for the MPD24. Now, If I load this up, would I really need to change anything at all in order to get it properly mapped to the MPD26? The 24 and 26 and practically identical; there are 2 less rotary knobs on the 26, but otherwise the differences seem like a matter of features (note repeat,etc.). I’m sure I’d need to switch a few things around, but if I’ve learned advanced MIDI mapping in traktor, I feel I should be fine in ableton… It’s more a matter of figuring out what mapping would be best to fit this template as opposed to the physical act of MIDI mapping. Does this template include the ill 128′s to remix songs on the fly?Really wondering if this template/mapping revolves around 4 channels. I have a 2 channel mixer, so just wanted to anticipate what types of confusion I’ll encounter regarding 4 vs 2 channel setup. Sorry for the lengthy post, and congrats on the album release! Leaving work soon, can’t wait to give it a full listen.

hey man this has not worked for me at all. when i load the template is says down the bottom there are files missing and stuff. I’m using an mpd26 don’t think it’s the problem though.I’m missing a whole lot of tracks I’ve only got 6 tracks and I can see you’ve got more???

just bought the template and after hours of trying i just cant seem to get the supatrigga au to work. ive put the .component file into the library>auio>plug-ins>components section multiple times (though none of my other vsts are can be found here) and every time i open the template it tells me it cant find the audio unit supatrigga.

Faders 4 & 5 do something (volume and low pass) and 2 of the dials do some beat repeat action, all of which seem completely random when compared to what they are supposed to do as demonstrated in the MPD 32 Tutorials!!!!!!!!!!!

When you load a song into the template do you get a good audible output signal?
Are you using it internally, or externally?
Now you say faders 4 and 5 are doing volume and low pass? I believe those are your fx selectors for left and right channel? Then fader 3 is the dry wet.
Let’s start there, and if all of the above are in place we will move on

Hmm thats odd? Because I watched the video attached and was pretty sure the low and hi pass were on dials, not faders? Fader 3 is supposed to be the dry/wet for faders 4 (left) and 5 (right) fx………… It sounds like your bank may be off? I know you said you checked all of that, but maybe it needs another look?
Worst comes to worst, I’ll send this up to management and get you another zip sent over, but I’m not sure that’s the case yet?
Reset the bank AGAIN. That’s where it sounds like the problem is……. All of the works are there, just mapped out funky?

Hi just downloaded the template for trigger finger… cant seem to find control message data for the EQ/Filt LEFT on the internal version. thats cc105. its listed but doesnt seem to control anything. Also noticed the hi/lo filter macro is off (with cc107 and cc111 controlling). If i turn it on it sounds like the EQ/Filt RIGHT becomes more extreme? could you please help? otherwise loving it!
Hey I got the TF/MPD template and i’m a little confused about “supatrigga”. when i start live (which is a legit paid Suite version) it says “The VST Plug-in Custom Folder could not be found. Please select a new folder in Live’s File/Folder Preferences.” i selected the folder where all my vst’s are located, dragged and dropped supatrigga, but when i try to open the TF template it says ” supatrigga cannot be found.” ……

Hey Mr. Gates and associates, Ive been planning to purchase your famous DJ template for the MPDs but I have a 26. So I kinda miss out on 2 encoders/knobs compared to the 24. but you dont have a demo video for the 24 so I kinda dont know what you have goin on with the 24.:) so my basis of comparison is the 32 which has 8 faders and 8 knobs and again I own a 26 so I have 6 of both. And when and if I purchase the template I’ll be using the external mixing version for sure so in reference to the 32 demo video I could do without the High/Low pass for the master and that slow reverse effect on Fader 8 on the 32. so my question is . could it be possible to just macro the the grid control for the beat repeat to the feedback control for the delay I mean it would be no problem for me play it, and would you help me set up the controls for the adjustments I mentioned? Coz as much as Im eager to get a copy of your template and use it for my live sets It would be a waste of money if I cant maximize it on my 26 right? cant wait to get the template though. I also have just purchased the template suite and am having all the problems listed below. supatrigga does not load into abelton/dont know if thats abelton or mac osXlion. also, while i have songs loaded and they play, none of the fx are mapped out correctly on the mpd32; only a few knobs work, no sliders or pads work. Same question…I’ve been using the APC 40 template, but but I want a more compact setup and I’m thinking the MPD26 would be perfect. I’m checking out the mapping now and it looks pretty straight forward…but I’d still kinda like to know if anyone’s had any luck before I go buy one.

Is it possible to use this in conjunction with a Novation LaunchPad? I like the idea of having the cue points on the Trigger Finger, but I’d rather have them on the LaunchPad so that have more than 8 cues loaded at one time.
